How to Stand Out in a Crowded Market

There is no PERFECT formula, but here's our top tips!

With the flood of companies moving online since the pandemic of 2020, many small start-ups to large corporations are now offering online shopping or pick-up and delivery for restaurants! So, how do you stand out in your local online community and get found? That’s a great question and it's one we will explore solutions for in this week's article.

1.) Tell Your Story

Your BRAND matters! What does it stand for, who are the players behind the scenes? Make your website personal! Did you know that a majority of small-medium sized businesses don’t even have a logo? What is a Logo and why is it important? That’s another issue all together and you can read about that in another of our articles! However, it does matter when setting you apart from your competitors.

Your ‘About Us’ Page should include personal photos, stories and business goals! All of this should be easy to find and laid out clearly from your landing pages throughout your site! Exude your personality! Think about your favorite brands, why do you love them? Why do you support them? Do they use recycled goods, or maybe their logo is a status symbol? Whatever the reason, their central idea is showcasing who THEY are!

2.) Showcase Social Proof

Social proof isn’t just facebook pages, or YouTube channels anymore, but reviews, testimonials, and proof that you are a legitimate company!

This step, while not a requirement, is important to the personality behind your brand when you have social media. Think about brands like Nike, Youth to the People, Apple and others. They all have one thing in common! Their brand is consistent across all of their marketing/social media channels. They have great reviews and they showcase them. People feel safe purchasing their products because they trust their 'Brand.'

3.) Personalization

Think about your audience, first time visitors verses your
#1 SUPER FAN! Someone who continually re-visits your website may get annoyed by the same call-to-action pop-up ads (Google doesn't like them either btw), so why not add personalization for a returning visitor and ask them to login to their member account or return to their cart and checkout?

Website personalization is a new feature that R. Designs is now offering and is included in our Silver and Gold web design Packages!

4.) Clear Local Distinction

Chances are your customers are going to be local to your business, unless your are an online professional service that can work remotely from anywhere.

So, does your website make it clear what areas you service? Is your SEO (search engine optimization) using keywords that relate to your service area, city or state?

As a business owner you shouldn’t have to stress about making your message clear. Most reputable web designers will understand that the majority of your leads will come from local searches.

At R. Designs we handle all the optimization for you! You do what you do best and that is to create unique products or offer professional services to your local area while we handle catching your leads!

Come back next time and we will discuss Branding, Logo Design and why it’s important to have clear business goals behind your company!
